The HER+ focuses on research, development, and demonstration of innovations that save CO2 cost-effectively. Compared to HER, the focus of HER+ has shifted from operational cost savings of renewable energy generation, to CO2 reduction. HER+ is applicable to a wider variety of  technologies, such as heat, storage and conversion, and CCS projects. In addition, projects that lie beyond the scope of SDE++ can also qualify for the HER+.
