A selection of our successes:
Due to the increasing ageing of the population and improved diagnostics, more and more people are dependent on healthcare. As a result, it faces a major problem: keeping healthcare affordable and manageable for more and more people. The COVID-19 pandemic gave us a worrying glimpse of the consequences of overburdening healthcare: overcrowded hospitals, delayed non-critical care, staff outages and complicated bureaucratic processes that make quick adjustments difficult. Therefore, the way in which care is provided must be drastically changed in order to be future-proof.
Themes in healthcare
Within the health care sector, a number of important themes can be distinguished:
- prevention and improving lifestyle, especially for high-risk groups such as the elderly and chronically ill
- stimulating and expanding primary care in order to relieve secondary and tertiary care
- the use of e-consultations, home monitoring and other technological applications to provide care partly at home;
- better cooperation between primary, secondary and tertiary care and government bodies to facilitate the necessary changes.
