A healthy body is the basis for a healthy mind. Sport is therefore important to me in several dimensions: active by doing it myself (tennis, sailing, skiing), passive by watching my hockey children, but also facilitating, in the form of leading a competition. For some years now, I have been a CS+ hockey referee and have been trying to steer our club’s matches in the right direction.
It is absolutely a challenge: interpreting the game, making decisions in a split second, managing the expectations of players, coaches and – last but not least – the public. Above all, I have to make sure that beautiful hockey is given room and that my decisions do not affect the end result of the game. In addition, I definitely benefit from my seniority and grey hair. In my work, my extensive experience provides added value in forming strong consortia and drawing up promising grant applications.
